The National Center for Cardiac Treatment and Surgery in Tajoura announced that its medical staff, in collaboration with a visiting medical team, successfully performed 35 complex therapeutic catheterization procedures on children suffering from congenital heart defects, achieving a 100% success rate.
The center explained in a statement on its Facebook page that the procedures were performed over a few days of continuous work, following thorough examinations and tests of more than 60 cases, with the aim of determining medical priorities and providing appropriate care for each child.
The center emphasized that this achievement reflects the level of development and professionalism attained by the cardiac catheterization unit, noting that the program was not limited to providing treatment for the targeted cases but also included the transfer of advanced medical expertise and the intensification of practical training for national staff.
The statement added that this step is part of a strategic vision aimed at enhancing the competence of local staff and achieving future self-sufficiency in treating complex cardiac cases within the country.
The center praised the efforts of the doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrators who participated in implementing the treatment program, emphasizing that the success of the procedures represents a new ray of hope for sick children and their families.
