The National Diabetes Authority launched its unified electronic system for patient registration and the regulation of medication distribution on Thursday, in the presence of representatives from several ministries, mayors and members of municipal councils, as well as directors of diabetes and endocrinology centers and a select group of doctors and specialists in the health sector.
Regulation of Medication Distribution
Dr. Awad Al-Quwairi, President of the National Diabetes Authority, stated that this system represents the cornerstone of pharmaceutical security, emphasizing that linking insulin dispensing to the national ID number through the new system provides a genuine guarantee of fairness and transparency and ensures the continuity of treatment for all registered patients.
Patient Registration and Tracking
For his part, the technical team presented a detailed overview of the system’s operational mechanism, explaining methods for protecting patient data, while also addressing attendees’ inquiries—particularly regarding registration procedures in remote areas, handling emergency cases, and data integration between health centers and the Authority.
The event concluded with an introductory tour of the system, emphasizing its actual launch within medical centers—a step described as a qualitative leap in diabetes management across Libya.
