With a capacity of 300 beds, Dabaiba inaugurates a mental health and addiction treatment center in Janzour

Abdulhamid Dabaiba, the head of the Government of National Unity, inaugurated the Al-Irada Private Resort for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment on Wednesday during a ceremony attended by Health Minister Mohamed Al-Ghouj, Colonel Mahmoud bin Rajab, commander of the 52nd Infantry Brigade, and Major General Mohamed Al-Barouni, head of the Security Support and Assistance Agency, along with a number of government ministers.

During the ceremony, Dabaiba emphasized the importance of such projects aimed at strengthening the state’s capacity to provide specialized health services, contributing to patient rehabilitation, and supporting national mental health and addiction treatment programs, according to a post by the “Our Government” platform on its Facebook page.

The platform stated that the resort, located in Janzour west of Tripoli, spans an area of one full hectare, with a capacity of up to 300 beds, and includes specialized wards for men and women, addiction treatment wards, and wards for the elderly, in addition to green spaces, gyms, and facilities equipped to provide treatment and rehabilitation in accordance with the highest standards of care and privacy.

Dabaiba's Tour

Dabaiba took a tour of the resort’s facilities, during which he inspected various medical facilities and rehabilitation programs, and listened to a detailed explanation of service delivery mechanisms and procedures adopted to ensure quality and safety for patients.

In a speech, Health Minister Mohamed Al-Ghouj noted the Ministry’s adoption of the National Mental Health Strategy, and its encouragement of active private sector participation in this field to complement the public sector’s role, emphasizing that together they strengthen the capabilities of Libya’s health system in accordance with quality and efficiency standards, thereby contributing to the improvement of mental health services and supporting rehabilitation and addiction treatment programs.
