The Canadian Red Cross has donated a mobile field clinic to Libya, in coordination with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The Libyan Red Crescent Society said in a statement on Tuesday that it handed over the clinic to the Ministry of Health for the Government of National Unity in the presence of the head of the IFRC mission in Libya, along with the Assistant Secretary-General and Humanitarian Affairs Advisor of the Libyan Red Crescent, and a number of Ministry of Health officials.

The Society noted that a training program has been established for the installation and operation of the field clinic, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, to ensure the readiness of technical and medical teams in emergencies and to enhance rapid response capabilities.

An Important Role for the Mobile Clinic in Remote Areas

The statement noted that the clinic strengthens the state’s capacity to address health crises, particularly in remote areas, and contributes to alleviating human suffering and providing medical care to those most in need.

The head of the International Federation’s mission in Libya praised the Libyan Red Crescent’s role in overcoming obstacles to ensure the clinic’s arrival, commending the effective communication between international partners and national institutions in support of humanitarian work.
