Faraj al-Jali, director of the Tobruk Medical Center, announced that the center has admitted 80 patients suffering from shortness of breath amid a wave of weather fluctuations affecting the city.
In a statement to Alwasat on Wednesday, al-Jali said that the patients are receiving treatment at the center, including oxygen therapy, noting that they are discharged as soon as their condition stabilizes.
Al-Jali clarified that the situation inside the center remains stable, with all medical and paramedical staff present, following the declaration of a state of emergency to address any potential developments.
He added that weather conditions remain unstable, suggesting that the number of cases is likely to rise in the coming hours if the weather continues to affect the city.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Tobruk Medical Center announced the declaration of a state of emergency in anticipation of the effects of low-pressure systems accompanied by dust and reduced visibility.
