The General Directorate of Environmental Health at the Ministry of Local Government, in coordination with the municipal environmental health directorates, continued to carry out preventive spraying campaigns targeting swamps and mosquito breeding grounds.

The campaign targeted the municipality of Gharyan based on a number of observations and complaints regarding the presence of swamps and stagnant water in some areas of the municipality, with rising temperatures during this period and the accompanying increase in the reproduction of insects, especially mosquitoes, according to the Libyan News Agency.

The campaigns are part of precautionary measures aimed at limiting the spread of mosquitoes and reducing their density during this period, in order to protect public health and the safety of citizens, given the climatic conditions that favor their reproduction.
