The first batch of routine vaccinations from the American company Pfizer arrived at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli on Friday.
The National Center for Disease Control said in a statement on Saturday that the vaccines were transported in refrigerated vehicles equipped in accordance with cold chain standards to the cold chain storage facilities of the center's Pharmacy, Equipment, and Medical Supplies Department.
The remaining vaccine shipments will arrive this week
The statement noted that work is underway to distribute the shipment to various cities and regions throughout the country to ensure the continuation of the national vaccination program, noting that the rest of the shipments will arrive successively during the current week, ensuring that the national demand for vaccines is met without any interruption.
Earlier, Salem Mohammed Shnishah, director of vaccinations at the National Center for Disease Control, said that the seasonal flu vaccination campaign will begin in early December.
