The French Embassy in Libya announced on Monday that a field hospital constructed in the city of Derna received its first patients.

The embassy pointed out that the hospital is equipped with two operating and delivery rooms, 14 beds for accommodation, and can care for about 100 patients daily, according to a post on X.

On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the start of the hospital's operation, sending a message in which he assured that "French rescuers and firefighters stand by the side" of the Libyan people.
