Members of the Sabratha's Municipal Guard branch closed a number of bakeries in the city on Tuesday.
The Municipal Guard attributed the closures to the lack of hygiene in general, the lack of health certificates for workers, a lack of tools such as flour sifters, the failure to wear work uniforms, as well as the poor condition of equipment used, according to a statement on Tuesday.
The statement indicated that the dilapidated and unusable equipment was seized and that the necessary legal measures were taken against violators.
The Municipal Guard announced the intensification of its health inspection tours of bakeries in the country in early August.
