Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between the Chambers of Commerce of Libya and Syria on Economic Cooperation

A delegation from the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Libya signed a memorandum of understanding with the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce at the conclusion of an official visit to the Syrian capital, Damascus, aimed at strengthening trade and investment cooperation and opening new horizons for economic partnership between the two countries.

In a statement, the Federation explained that the visit took place from July 19 to 22, 2026, led by the Federation’s president, and included a series of meetings with officials from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry and the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, under the auspices of the Libyan Ambassador to Syria, Walid Ammar.

The two sides explored ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, agriculture, and investment, in addition to discussing opportunities to expand trade between Libya and Syria in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries.

The Libyan delegation also visited the “Nas Tex International Textile Exhibition, where it was briefed on the latest technologies in the textile industry and the investment opportunities offered by the Syrian market.

The visit concluded with the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the aim of strengthening economic cooperation, expanding areas of partnership, and opening broader horizons for trade and investment between the two sides.
