The Authority for the Implementation and Management of the Man-Made River Project announced the reactivation of 15 wells in the Tazerbou field, which helped increase the field’s production to 420,000 cubic meters per day, up from 300,000 cubic meters, as part of the Authority’s efforts to boost water supplies to Libyan cities and villages.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the Authority explained that a well that had been out of service was brought back into the production system, and eight wells that had been shut down due to low flow were rehabilitated and put back into operation, and five other wells that had been shut down due to worn-out plastic rings and the treatment plant being out of service, thanks to the efforts of engineers and technicians.

It noted that these efforts contributed to increasing the field’s production by approximately 120,000 cubic meters per day, despite the challenges facing the Authority, foremost among which are a lack of funding, frequent power outages, and high temperatures.

Engineer Ahmed Al-Dhaib, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Artificial River Project Implementation and Management Authority, commended the efforts of the workers at the Tazerbou wells, as well as the staff at all other project sites, commending their continuous efforts to ensure the continuity of water supply to various cities and villages across Libya.
