Libyan-Turkish Talks Explore Expanding Partnership and Investment in the Oil and Gas Sectors

Khalifa Abdulsadek, Minister of Oil and Gas for the Government of National Unity, discussed with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of oil, gas, and energy, on the sidelines of the Second Istanbul Natural Resources Summit 2026.

The talks addressed expanding the scope of partnership between Libya and Turkey, promoting investment opportunities and cooperation with global energy companies, as well as supporting participation in regional energy projects, according to the Libyan News Agency.

Sector Targets

The Minister of Oil and Gas reviewed the sector’s targets for the coming phase, foremost among which are increasing production rates, expanding gas projects, and developing infrastructure, including the Green Stream pipeline to export gas to European markets.

Both sides emphasized the importance of developing joint strategic projects in various energy sectors, thereby contributing to energy security and achieving sustainable development at the regional and international levels.
