The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund said on Sunday that its Director General, Belqasim Haftar, held an official meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to discuss ways to strengthen partnership in development and reconstruction.
The Fund explained on its Facebook page that during the meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Cairo, the two sides discussed “prospects for cooperation in the fields of development and reconstruction, and the exchange of technical and operational expertise to support development projects in Libya.”
Madbouly praised the Fund’s role in implementing reconstruction and development projects, while Belqasim Haftar commended Egypt’s continued support, particularly the contribution of Egyptian companies and personnel in Derna following Storm Daniel, which struck the city of Derna and the Green Mountain regions in September 2023.
The Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund added that during the meeting, both sides affirmed the depth of the fraternal relations between Libya and Egypt and the importance of strengthening the partnership in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
