Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi held a meeting on Wednesday with a number of members of the High Council of State representing the southern region (Fezzan), during which they reviewed the current economic challenges in Libya.

The media office of the Presidential Council Chairman stated that the meeting is part of a series of ongoing consultations that Menfi is conducting with various stakeholders and regions to monitor developments in the country’s political and economic situation.

Menfi emphasized the need to move forward with implementing a package of reform measures aimed at enhancing transparency and fiscal discipline, and tightening oversight of the performance of sovereign institutions, particularly in the oil and gas sectors, to ensure the protection of public funds and rationalize spending.

During the meeting held at the Presidential Council headquarters in Tripoli, Menfi also reaffirmed his commitment to continuing his efforts to combat corruption by activating oversight frameworks and supporting the relevant agencies, thereby contributing to the establishment of good governance and strengthening citizens’ confidence in state institutions.
