On Sunday, the city of Misrata will witness a visit by the Prime Minister of Qatar and his accompanying delegation to sign three Libyan-Qatari agreements, chief among them the investment and development of the Misrata Free Zone, the investment and construction of Tripoli International Airport “Terminal 2,” and the signing of a cooperation and development agreement in the oil sector.
The Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and his accompanying delegation will arrive at Misrata International Airport at 2:35 p.m., where they will be officially received by the Minister of Transport of the Government of National Unity, according to the announced program.
The delegation will then travel to the Misrata Free Zone, arriving at 3:05 p.m., where an official reception ceremony will be held, including a reception for the Prime Minister by dignitaries and notables of the city of Misrata, local leaders, and a guard of honor.
The official Libyan-Qatari bilateral meeting will be held in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, the Minister of Transport, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, the President of the National Oil Corporation, the President of the Internal Investment Fund, the President of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects, the National Security Advisor, and the Director General of the Misrata Free Zone.
Signing of three investment agreements
The meeting will include the signing of an agreement on investment and the establishment of Tripoli International Airport “Terminal 2,” the signing of a cooperation and development agreement in the oil sector, and discussion of prospects for joint cooperation between Libya and Qatar.
In the same context, an official ceremony will be held to sign the agreement on investment and development of the Misrata Free Zone, followed by an official lunch in honor of the Prime Minister of Qatar and his accompanying delegation, and then an official commemorative photo will be taken.
A parallel press conference will also be held to discuss the signed agreements and investment prospects, with the participation of the head of the Misrata Free Zone, representatives of the participating companies, and the head of the executive team for the Prime Minister's initiatives and strategic projects.
The visit will conclude with the departure of the Prime Minister of Qatar and his accompanying delegation to Misrata International Airport, after an official farewell ceremony.
