The Governor of Libya's Central Bank, Siddiq Al-Kabir, was elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of African Central Banks until 2025.
The Central Bank said in a brief statement: "The Association of African Central Banks elected on Saturday, Siddiq Omar Al-Kabir, Chairman of the Group of Central Banks for North Africa, and Vice President of the Assembly during the year 2024, during its annual meetings for 2023 held in The Gambia."
During the same meetings, Al-Kabir was elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of African Central Banks through 2025, according to the statement.
