Central Bank Governor Al-Kabir discusses remittances file with Egyptian counterpart

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Siddiq Al-Kabir, discussed with his Egyptian counterpart Hassan Abdullah the file of money transfers by Egyptian workers in Libya on Thursday.

During the meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, the two parties also discussed cooperation in the areas of training, development and exchange of experiences, according to a Central Bank statement.

The meeting then touched on the global economic situation, in the presence of the Senior Adviser, Mustafa Al-Manea, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Rami Abul-Naga, and the Deputy Governor, Muhammad Abu Musa.

On June 11, the Central Bank of Egypt announced that it had received a deposit of one billion dollars from Qatar and another of $700 million from Libya at the end of 2022.

According to this data, Libya's total deposits in Egypt amounted to 900 million dollars.
