The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Tuesday the arrival of 27 ready-to-use unit transformer substations to the company's main warehouse in Tripoli, ranging in size from 500 to 1000 kVA supplied by Saudi Arabia's Electric Industries Company.

The company added in a statement that these stations come within the framework of providing the special needs of the distribution network to improve the voltage, address bottlenecks and increase electricity loads to ensure the continuity of power for all citizens.

GECOL confirmed that this process comes as part of its continuous efforts to cover the increasing demand for electric power and to overcome outages that may occur in some areas as a result of high loads.
