Qatar’s Ambassador to Libya, Khalid Al-Dosari, briefed the head of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, on political and security developments in the Gulf region in light of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran that began on February 28.
Dabaiba received Al-Dosari at his office in the Cabinet Office in Tripoli on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they reviewed the latest situation in the region and the political and security developments it is witnessing, according to Dabaiba's media office.
The media office stated on its Facebook page: “The Qatari ambassador provided a comprehensive briefing on the latest developments in his country and the region, their potential implications for regional stability, as well as efforts to contain tensions and promote de-escalation.”
For his part, Dabaiba affirmed the Government of National Unity’s commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at strengthening security and stability in the region, stressing the importance of continuous coordination and consultation among sister nations to address shared challenges, thereby contributing to the preservation of regional peace and serving the interests of the peoples.
The media office added that the meeting addressed ways to develop bilateral relations between Libya and the State of Qatar and to strengthen areas of cooperation, in a manner that serves the developmental and economic priorities of both countries.
