Imad Trabelsi, the interior minister for the Government of National Unity received his Turkish counterpart, Ali Yerlikaya, today at the ministry's headquarters in Tripoli.

According to a statement released by the ministry today, Trabelsi received Yerlikaya and his accompanying delegation at the Interior Ministry in Tripoli; however, no further details were revealed.

Last October, Trabelsi discussed ways to strengthen security cooperation and consolidate bilateral relations with Turkey's ambassador to Libya, Güven Begeç, especially in the areas of training, rehabilitation, and developing Libyan police capabilities.

The two sides discussed "mechanisms for expanding joint security coordination in a manner that serves mutual interests and contributes to supporting stability efforts within Libya."
