Libyan Presidential Council member Moussa Al-Kouni accompanied by a number of African presidents, heads of government of states, ministers, and army commanders to attend the 63rd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Chad on Friday.

Al-Kouni arrived in the Chadian capital N'Djamena on Thursday and was received at the airport by Prime Minister-designate, Foreign Minister Mohamed Saleh Al-Nazif, a number of ministers, the charge d'affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Chad, the military attaché, and members of the diplomatic corps at the embassy.

After his arrival he met with President Mahamat Idriss Déby to discuss the situations in Niger and Sudan.

The Presidential Council's media office said that the meeting confirmed the unity of their positions to ensure the stability of neighboring countries and avoid dragging the State of Niger into an armed conflict.
