Hammad government delegation discusses reactivation of the Libyan-Syrian Higher Committee during visit to Damascus

Libya's parliament-appointed government, headed by Osama Hammad, announced on Tuesday that it is looking forward to activating the Libyan-Syrian Higher Committee "headed by the prime ministers of the two brotherly countries."

A delegation made up of government and House of Representatives members is currently on a two-day visit to Damascus

The delegation met with Syrian Finance Minister Kenan Yaghi to discuss prospects for cooperation between the two countries, and "the reactivation of the Libyan-Syrian Higher Committee."

The government added that the meeting also touched on the status of joint companies between the two countries, with the two sides stressing "the importance of preservation, reactivation and strengthening of Libyan-Syrian joint companies for the benefit of the two brotherly countries."
