Air Ambulance veers off runaway during emergency landing at Tripoli's Mitiga Airport

The Ministry of Transportation for Libya's Government of National Unity revealed the details of Air Ambulance crash at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli on Saturday.

The ministry quoted the director of the Investigations Office, Essam Rajab Nusrat, saying that the Sessna 560 plane veered from its course while landing at approximately 09:12 local time.

The incident did not result in human or material losses.

The plane was heading from Tripoli to Benghazi on an "emergency ambulance mission", he said.

According to Nusrat "there was a technical failure" after its take off from Tripoli, "which forced the plane to return to Mitiga International Airport".
