The Ministry of Interior for Libya's Government of National Unity announced the removal of illegally constructed buildings in the Hadba area of the capital, Tripoli.

Patrols from the Law Enforcement Department of the General Directorate of Security Operations evacuated the two-hectare plots of land on the order of the Attorney General's Office, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

Over the past year, the Interior Ministry has continued several campaigns to remove illegal construction in Greater Tripoli, the latest of which was a campaign in the municipality of Tajoura last December.

The campaign aims to remove structures in the path of new roadwork projects.
