Tripoli University announced on Tuesday that an unknown group had taken Dr. Bashir Oraibi, a faculty member at the College of Engineering, to an unknown destination on Monday.

The university called on authorities to assume their responsibilities to protect him and to find those responsible as soon as possible.

It also demanded that higher authorities take the necessary measures to ensure his safety and to protect faculty members on campus.

The Faculty Members Syndicate at the university has also threatened to suspend studies at the university if the professor is not released.
