The mayor of Sirte, Mukhtar al-Madani, announced 22 schools in various parts of the municipality were renovated and expanded during the past months.

Al-Maadani said in a statement to Alwasat that some schools were maintained for the first time since their inception, adding that funding came from the Reconstruction and Stability Committee in the House of Representatives.

The mayor added that the financial cost of renovations ranged between 600,000 and one million dinars per school.
