The Speaker of Libya's House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, stressed on Tuesday the need to adhere to the implementation of the election laws "as they are", because they were developed by the "6+6" committee in accordance with the 13th constitutional amendment.

"If the sole legislative authority, according to the constitutional declaration and the political agreement, cannot amend these laws, it is neither reasonable nor acceptable for any other party to object to them or prevent their implementation," he said during the House of Representatives session.

The speaker considered that the election laws are "a valid basis for election and the formation of a unified mini-government whose mission is to achieve the desire of the Libyan people to reach fair elections, fulfilling their desire to choose their rulers by their own free will."
