Al-Allaqi announces formation of a team to defend Fathi Baja, Siraj Dughman and Tarek Al-Bashari

The former head of the Libyan Bar Association Mohamed Al-Allaqi announced on Thursday the formation of a body to defend former Libyan ambassador to Canada Fathi Baja, Siraj Dughman and Tarek Al-Bashari, who have been detained by the Internal Security Service in Benghazi since Sunday.

Al-Allaqi said on his Facebook account that the defense team is headed by lawyer Abdul Hafiz Ghoga, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Lawyers Union, Jordanian lawyer Ziad Khasawneh, and the former President of the Tunisian Bar Association Chaouki Tayeb.  

In addition to the human rights defender and lawyer Faraj Al-Ajili, lawyer Sonia Al-Ameri, the head of the Arab Organization for Young Lawyers Walid bin Rajab and Tripoli Bar Association member Hamdi Al-Majdoub.

Al-Allaqi called on fellow lawyers wishing to join the defense team to contact him personally or the committee's rapporteur, Amira El-Baz, at the number "0923145740".
