The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Thursday the restoration of electricity to the Stluna area, south of the city of Al-Bayda in the Green Mountain region of eastern Libya, which was ravaged by devastating floods on September 10.
The company confirmed that as of Thursday,18 new poles have been installed and that 4,000 meters of powerlines have been rerouted.
The GECOL technical and engineering crews have been working for two weeks to maintain and rebuild distribution networks, including stations and power transmission lines damaged by the floods.
