A source revealed to Alwasat on Monday that vehicles belonging to a security agency affiliated with Government of National Unity (GNU) were used in the kidnapping of the General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC) CEO Khaled Al-Tawait on Sunday.
Al-Tawati was kidnapped in the Ghout Al-Shaal area of Tripoli while returning to his home from work.
The source explained to Alwasat that after checking a video recording of the kidnapping it was clear from the license plates of the kidnappers' cars that it belonged to a security agency affiliated with the GNU.
GNMTC said that an unidentified armed group driving 3 civilian vehicles forcibly kidnapped Al-Tawati as he left the company's headquarters at 3:30 pm.
A video seen by Alwasat showed the kidnappers bare-faced, dressed in civilian clothes, and using civilian vehicles in the kidnapping.
