On Wednesday morning, the Office of the Attorney General announced the transfer of a wanted person from the city of Zawiya to its headquarters in Tripoli with the help of members of the Directorate Support Force, the Stability Support Agency and the Law Enforcement Department, who contributed to bringing the accused and opening the coastal road from Tripoli to Ras Ajdir.

The wanted individual from Zawiya named Abdul Raouf Al-Kabou was arrested while returning to Libya from Tunisia through the Ras Ajdir border crossing on Monday evening.

A force tasked with transfering Al-Kabou was intercepted in the city of Zuwara, leading to Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba to form a force “consisting of 450 armed vehicles” in order to “bring the wanted individual and restore traffic on the coastal road" on Tuesday.

Judicial orders against Al-Kabou were issued after an investigation into his participation in murders, narcotics trafficking and fuel smuggling.

Attorney General Al-Sour also met with a delegation from Zawiya on Tuesday to assure them of that proper procedures were undertaken and breifed them on the evidence against Al-Kabou.
