The head of Libya's interim Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, ordered the commanders and chiefs of 12 military and security agencies to form a force “consisting of 450 armed vehicles” in order to “restore traffic on the Tripoli-Ras Ajdir coastal road".

Dabaiba called on the commanders and the heads of the security and military authorities to coordinate with the commander of the West Coast Military Region and to inform him of developments periodically.

This step comes after the arrest of a citizen residing in the city of Zawiya, Abdul Raouf Al-Kabou, who was wanted by the Attorney General, while returning to Libya from Tunisia through the Ras Ajdir border crossing on Monday evening.

Judicial orders against Al-Kabou were issued after an investigation into his participation in murders, narcotics trafficking and fuel smuggling.

Attorney General Siddiq Al-Sour met with a delegation from Zawiya on Tuesday to assure them of that proper procedures were undertaken and breifed them on the evidence against Al-Kabou.
