The head of Libya's High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mishri, thanked the members of the '6+6 Joint Committee to Prepare Electoral Laws' for the effort made to reach important consensuses, expressing his hope to increase understanding on some points in the committee's upcoming meetings.

Al-Mishri said, in a post on his Facebook page: "Although Amendment 13 considers the committee's work final and binding, we hope to increase understanding on some points through the committee itself in upcoming meetings."

Al-Mishri's statements came after a press conference held by the committee in Morocco, during which it announced the postponement of signing an agreement on electoral laws.

The head of the House of Representatives delegation in the committee, Jalal Al-Shuwaidi, announced an agreement was reached on laws regarding the presidential and parliamentary elections but said he was awaiting approvals from House of Representatives Speaker Aguila Saleh and High Council of State leader Khaled Al-Mishri in the coming days.
