The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the arrival of new electrical equipment for the Al-Khoms and South Tripoli power stations, to complete major maintenance and overhaul works on Monday.

The company added in a statement, that the equipment arrived separately at Mitiga International Airport and Tripoli Sea Port on Sunday.

GECOL said that the equipment was then transferred to the company's warehouses for inspection before being transported to the stations.

The statement concluded that the shipment comes within the framework of the company's continuous efforts to support the electrical network and accelerate the pace of work to complete overhauls before the summer power usage peak.
