The United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Libya announced the delivery of basic medical supplies to the Health Department in the southern region, saying that these supplies make a "difference" in the fight against diseases.

In a brief statement, the organization praised the support of the French embassy in Libya, as well as the European Union mission to Libya.

On Monday, UNICEF in Libya announced the supply of 55 doses of measles and rubella vaccines to the southern region as a response to the current measles outbreak in the region, in partnership with the National Center for Disease Control.

The organization said in a statement that the vaccines arrived last week and were delivered to the medical supply system in preparation for the launch of the national campaign to combat measles and rubella, which targets the southern region in its first stage.
