Libyan Arab Armed Forces Commander, Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, and his accompanying delegation on Monday.
The General Command published a statement saying the meeting took place at its Benghazi headquarters without revealing any details about the meeting.
The visit comes within a series of meetings that Bathily is conducting with Libyan actors to discuss ways to advance the political process and progress toward elections.
During the past few days, Bathily has held meetings in Tripoli with Presidential Council leader Mohamed Menfi, Government of National Unity leader Abdulhamid Dabaiba, High Council of State leader Khaled Al-Mishri and a number of parliamentarians.
