Government of National Unity Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Haddad, discussed joint cooperation in the maritime and air sectors with Italian military officials.

This came during Al-Haddad's meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Italian Joint Operations Command, the head of the Italian Operations Support Department, the Commander of the Italian Support Mission in Libya and members of the delegation accompanying them.

During the meeting, Al-Haddad also stressed the importance of joint cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

It is noteworthy that combating illegal migration and human trafficking were near the top of the agenda of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's visit to Tripoli. She noted during her visit that “llegal entry numbers to Italy from Libya are still high and have increased 50% despite Libyan efforts. We are committed to supporting Libya in managing these flows."
