US State Department spokesman Ned Price said that Secretary Antony Blinken stressed during a meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo on Monday, "the importance of unified international support for holding elections in Libya."
Blinken, who was also interviewed by Al Arabiya from the US embassy in Cairo, added that the United States currently supports "the need to move towards elections so that there is a legitimate and clear government that reflects the aspirations of the Libyan people."
The US Secretary of State arrived in Cairo on Sunday evening ahead of a two-day visit to Jerusalem and the West Bank.
