Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed optimism that general elections will be held in Libya by the end of 2023, indicating that the Libyan issue is among three files his country is “struggling” to find a settlement for.
Tebboune's comments came during a meeting with governors on Thursday, naming Palestine and Western Sahara as the other two issues.
The Algerian president had previously confirmed, in televised statements, the difficulty of resolving the Libyan crisis due to foreign interference.
Saying he believed that “without a very high patriotic spirit, it is difficult to resolve the Libyan conflict.”
