Eight family members were killed as a result of a tragic traffic accident in the Umm Al-Gharaniq area, east of Sirte.

A small vehicle and a passenger bus collided with a herd of camels on the Ras Lanuf-Ajdabiya road in the Umm Al-Gharaniq area which led to the death of Saleh Al-Said Al-Maghrabi, his wife, 4 boys and two girls.

A medical source tells Alwasat that the bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Brega Hospital.

There has been a phenomenon of loose camels spreading on highways in a number of regions of Libya and causing a number of traffic accidents, resulting in human and material losses.

Last April, the Oil Crescent Security Directorate announced the distribution of reflective belts to camel breeders to avoid night time traffic accidents.
