The Ambulance and Emergency Service announced on Thursday evening, that two policemen belonging to the Mizdah Security Directorate were injured after a detainee detonated a "hand grenade" at a checkpoint while being transferred to Gharyan prison.

In a statement, the Ambulance and Emergency Service confirmed that the injured officers were transferred by its emergency teams to Gharyan Hospital, and Mizdah General Hospital.
