The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar stressed the importance of reaching a political solution to the Libyan crisis in accordance with international resolutions and in a manner that achieves security and stability in the region.

This came in a joint statement issued at the conclusion of the Saudi Crown Prince's visit to Qatar on Thursday, which is the first at this high level between the two Gulf countries since 2017.

The part devoted to Libya in the Saudi-Qatari statement carried the same terms as the joint statement issued at the conclusion of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia last Saturday.
