The Libyan Interior Ministry said on Wednesday that the director of protection for diplomatic missions, Brigadier Wissam bin Jama, met with the chargé d'affaires of the embassy of Japan to Libya, Masaki Amadera, to discuss reopening the embassy in Tripoli as well as coordinating security for visits to Libyan cities.

This came during a meeting held at the headquarters of the General Directorate for the protection of diplomatic missions, according to the Ministry of Interior.

Chargé d'affaires Amadera expressed his happiness to be in Tripoli, giving his deep thanks for efforts in protecting and securing the premises of embassies and diplomatic missions.

The return of the work of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in Libya has continued since the government of national unity took office in March. Last week Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba welcomed the return of the Spanish embassy to Libya.
