Italy's Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, in a telephone conversation with Libya Presidential Council leader, Fayez Al-Sarraj, on Wednesday renewed support for the Government of National Accord (GNA), the political track and agreed to cooperate and coordinate efforts in the two countries to prevent the outbreak of the coronavirus.

During the phone call, the two parties discussed developments in Libya and bilateral relations according to a statement.

The statement indicated the Italian diplomat's praise for the measures taken by the GNA in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, expressing thanks and gratitude for Libya's solidarity with the Italian people.
