The spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Mismari, announced the control of  Al-Assah, Al-Jamil, Riqdalin and Zelten areas on Friday morning.

Al-Mismari said that this progress came after the "failure of the attack" by Government of National Accord (GNA) forces in the Al-Wattiya region, according to a statement.

On Wednesday, the "Volcano of Anger" operation announced the implementation of an operation targeting Al-Wattiya base, which they say resulted in the capture of a number of members of LNA members and "foreign mercenaries."

Al-Mismari considered the GNA operation "a breach of the truce", adding the General Command "replied that by the air force," pointing to the continued "fierce battles" near Tripoli.
