The Ministry of Health for Libya's interim Government of National Unity announced the opening of the operating department at Barqin General Hospital, northwest of Sebha, and the resumption of surgeries there after a six-year suspension.

This came after conducting a complete development and maintenance of equipment in the department and the provision of medical equipment and supplies to operate it, according to a statement by the ministry on Thursday.

The operations department includes two rooms, one for major operations and the other for minor operations.
