Libya's parliament-appointed prime minister, Fathi Bashagha, inaugurated the children's department at Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital in Sirte after renovations were carried out over the last year.
The opening was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Bashagha's government, Hafed Gaddur, the mayor of Sirte, and the General Director of the Ibn Sina Teaching Hospital, Dr. Ali Al-Jarushi.
After the renovation, the now children's department includes 13 accommodation rooms with a capacity of 44 medical beds, including respiratory, digestive and pediatric units.
It is supervised by medical personnel, including 20 resident physicians and 22 medical assistants, between nursing and nursing assistants.
