The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has provided sports equipment to the University of Sirte "in support of student activities."

The equipment was handed over by the UNDP project coordinator in Sirte, Dr. Gaddafi Al-Bati,  to the President of Sirte University, Dr. Suleiman Al-Shater.

The handover was also attended by parliament member Zayed Hadiya and Mayor Mukhtar Al-Madani.
