The Libyan national team won second place and the silver medal at the 25th Arab Basketball Championship held in Cairo, after losing 87-62 in the final to the Egypt.

Although it was unable to win gold, this was the first time that Libya has reached the finals.

Egypt arrived in the finals defeating the UAE with a score of 114-68 on Tuesday, while Libya qualified for the final after beating Tunisia 70-64.

Tunisia placed third, winning the bronze medal.
