Libyan Government of National Unity Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabaiba sent a message to the national football team, before facing Egypt on Friday evening in Alexandria.
Dabaiba cheered on the squad, saying "Get it boys. Your people deserve joy. All the best for our national team in its important match against the brotherly Egyptian team today."
He added, "determination, persistence and discipline makes winners in matches like this."
Libya sits atop Group F in the qualifiers with six points, followed by the Egyptian team with four points, then Gabon with one point, and the Angolan team at zero.
The Mediterranean Knights will face off against the Pharaohs on Friday at Burj Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria, with a rematch in Benghazi on October 11.
